Arab Spring: Challenges and Chances for Eastern Partnership

Summary/Abstract: The European Neighbourhood Policy and the Eastern Partnership have reached a turning point. In mid-2010, Commissioner for Enlargement and Neighbourhood Policy Štefan Füle and the head of the EU’s diplomatic service, Catherine Ashton, sent a questionnaire on that policy’s future to the EU member states and to neighbouring countries. The replies were to be instrumental in developing a new, updated version of the EU’s policy toward Eastern Europe, Southern Caucasus, and parts of the Middle East and North Africa.
