Contemporary conditions of foreign capital inflow in the aspect of local development

Summary/Abstract: The main purpose of the study was to diagnose the determinants of the inflow of foreign capital and its effects on the socio-economic development of the local system. The realisation of the objective was based on the research results conducted in 2011 and 2015 among foreign investors and local authorities of selected voivodships. Regardless of the year’s starting business activity, the item 3 of the most important motives (new market acquisition, access and low-cost labor market, prospects for economic development) remained unchanged (except 2008-2010). The most important stimulant for investment was geographic location. Among the most important benefits of capital inflows local authorities indicated: general economic and social, especially for the labor market. The factor emerged as a motive for foreign investors, the stimulant and the effect for the municipality was the labor market, its resources and costs.
