Summary/Abstract: This article focuses on the appraisal process of government records created by Canadian Federal departments and institutions, specifically the macro-appraisal. The author examines different tools for this approach and key perspectives on selection of contemporary voluminous records. Moreover, the author demonstrates how the macro-appraisal approach takes into account the principle of provenance.
