Summary/Abstract: In analyzing contemporary New Testament translations, the author looks for answers to the following questions: 1) how does daily life appear on the pages of the Bible, 2) how far the elements of everyday language penetrate into the translations of the Holy Writing? It is found that the common style in the sacred text manifests itself especially in the use of neutral, unmarked forms that work in the spoken language. In the analyzed translations the elements of the pathetic style are denounced as well as the expressive registers of the current style are not used.
