Summary/Abstract: The main aim of this work was to determine the sense of coherence of mothers of childrenwith autism who experience labour migration of husbands. One important goal was to present differences in the scope of sense of coherence of mothers of children with autism who experience migration of husbands and those whose husbands do not go abroad in order to find a better job.The study concerned 60 mothers of children with autism (30 whose husbands migrate (group A) and30 who do not experience migration of husbands (group B).) The sample selection was purposive. Inorder to realise the set aim, the Orientation to Life Questionnaire by A. Antonovsky and an own questionnaire were used. The analysis of data concerning the sense of coherence revealed statistically significant differences in the studied groups in the scope of scales of understanding, resourcefulness. Mothers of children with autism whose husbands migrate abroad, despite having a better financial situation, due to a lack of presence, an active participation and a support of husbands in taking care ofchildren, have a lower level of coping with problems than women whose husbands do not leave abroad.
