Summary/Abstract: OTV is currently Romania’s most watched television network. The big breakthrough comes in2007, when it comes from nowhere to the top, even more, it surpasses the rating of such big-budget networks, such as ProTv. In 2009 it loses from its ratings, yet still it surpasses the rating of the Romanian national television. This study comments ont he OTV phenomenon, and tries to grab the points where the Romanian commercial media was radically overwritten.
