Summary/Abstract: Following extensive research of the documents of the time and historic writings, the authors of the present article acknowledge the fact that for any country an international context – favorable or unfavorable circumstances – necessarily determines formulating its national interests and, implicitly, an adequate manner of action, both internally, but especially internationally. When the first world conflagration broke out, our national interest was to reunite in one single state the Romanian-speaking populations in Danube’s riverbed, Transylvanian Plain and the territory lying between Prut and Dniester. Unfortunately, these times found Romania militarily unprepared, but with an unbreakable will to assert its position internationally regarding its right to restore the state of Michael the Brave.
