Summary/Abstract: The global economic crisis that began in 2007 affected all areas of social and economic life. In the case of entities the effects of the crisis soon be seen in their economic and financial standing. Economic and financial standing is thereby treated as a derivative of operation companies in the economy. The aim of the paper is to examine the phenomenon of bankruptcy and the threat of bankruptcy listed food companies. The analysis refers to the years 2007-2014. The study used economic and financial data for the analyzed entities Notoria Service 2015. The analysis of the problem was carried out using the fundamental power index. Synthetic analysis and evaluation was supplemented with information on bankruptcy in Poland. In this regard was used data from the Statistical Office.
