Summary/Abstract: The Romanian Lands’ positioning between the two major worlds of thetime, the Western and the Oriental, lead to the appearance of foreign influences inthe Romanian society of the17th and 18th centuries. Due to the Habsburgdomination, Transylvania would be heavily influenced by the Germanic way of life.The fate of Wallachia and Moldova would be linked to the Ottoman Empire, whoseOriental influences would quickly penetrate the two Romanian states. Consideringthat fashion trend is given by the person who leads a state and its court, theRomanian aristocracy would be forced to adopt the dress code of the occupants.
