Summary/Abstract: The institute of the European Public Prosecutor represents significant level of the european integration process and the highest possible level of harmonization of the european legislation on the European Union, which a supranational organisation can accomplish, establishment of this institute is observed from two completely opposed standpoints: on the one hand, the Eurosceptics consider it as nothing but a threat to individual nations, and on the other hand Euroidealists consider this as a potentional solution for resolving crucial problems of the entire society within European Union. This paper deals with certain institutes of the European Union related to the criminal law, which could lead to foundation of the authority in charge of criminal prosecution at the level of European Union, as well as the institutes important for further development of the idea about foundation of the office of European Public Prosecutor, as well as for future legal activities. The paper also presents Charter of Fundamental Rights of the European Union that should be the basis for European public prosecutor activities. The essence of this paper is based on presentation of the role, position, possible acting and criticsm of the legal experts in the field of criminal law.
