INFLUENCE OF THE CORRUPTION OVER MIGRATION PROCESSES AND MIGRANT SMUGGLING

Summary/Abstract: Migration is one of the most urgent problems of our society, involving the fact that millions of people are leaving their home countries searching for, better quality of life, better jobs and security. Corruption is a key factor in committing crimes such as smuggling of migrants. Corruption is a main obstacle to the disclosure, prevention, and control in regard to migrants smuggling. The objective of this paper is to present the relation between migration and corruption, which reveals important consequences for the migrants, as well as for politicians, for institutions and civilians involved in migration processes, for local communities and for the society in general.
