Summary/Abstract: The evolution of mankind from its origin to this day is tightly linked to the migration of large groups of people from their home land to other territories. The unifying motive of all migration processes, above all, is the intention to meet the physiological needs of people and their need for security. Migration is a combination of different territorial relocations of the population leading to change of residence.Migration is one of the most urgent issues of our time, given the fact that millions of people are moving from their home land in search of security, better working conditions and better quality of life.This article examines and presents the main factors and motives leading to the presence of migration processes in Bulgaria.
