Summary/Abstract: At the moment when almost seven decades have passed since the adoption of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, we pay due attention to the place of human rights in the study programs of higher education institutions in Serbia. Following the curriculum from criminal and criminal cases, we tried to show how and in what way, first of all, the Constitution of the Republic of Serbia protects the proclaimed liberties and rights of man and citizen. On this occasion, we also pointed out certain dilemmas that the constitutional text provokes in the scientific and professional public, which, in case of change of this document, could be correction. On the other hand, we tried to point out the practical need to study human rights in the mentioned study programs, precisely because the violation of any right or freedom constitutes a separate criminal offense sanctioned by punishment.
