Summary/Abstract: The article analyses problems of constructing of remembrance and memory in the literary text and the specifics of the fictive narrator and autobiographical writing in the prose of Herta Mьller and Catalin Dorian Florescu. Special attention is paid to the different aesthetic strategies in reconstruction of the past and to the theoretical discussion about similarities and differences of the terms “writing in emigration” and “postcolonial narrative”. Texts are interpreted, which reflect the forms of suffering and resistance during Ceausescus’s dictatorship and the painful concussions after 1989 in post socialist Europe.
