Summary/Abstract: The article discusses the very concept of the geography of science, which is strongly connected with the spatial turn in humanities. It concentrates on modern theory of literature – the discipline which was born and developed in so concrete space that it calls for the analysis of its beginning and evolution in spatial categories. In contrast with the existing conceptualizations, the article proposes to draw an anthropomorphic map of literary theory and then to study its development taking into consideration cities, cafes, cabarets, private seminars, family meetings and other unique unofficial spaces.
