Summary/Abstract: Cooperation with experts with different professional background is an inevitable part of professional activities of social pedagogues. Ability to work in a team is often stated in numerous competitions as a key competence, but strategies to become competent in the context of teamwork are seldom cited in professional literature. In the field of social pedagogy, teamwork is a cooperative form of experts work with the aim of solving certain tasks, whose complexity disables independent action. Teams in which social pedagogues are engaged are often heterogeneous, include the engagement of experts of different profiles, age, gender, differentiated cultural tradition which according to Bernitzke (2009: 16) often results in successful cooperation taking into account the diversity and variety in terms of knowledge, experience, and attitudes of the team members. The aim of this paper is to present the ability to work in the team as a key competence within the sociopedagogical profession. In accordance with the principles of qualitative research methodology the data are obtained through a directed discussion within the focus group, which was composed of graduate social pedagogues. Evaluation of the empirical material was done with the help of qualitative content analysis (Mayring, 2000), and the results show that a team work, in accordance with theoretical premises (Scherpner, Fink and Kowollik, 1976: 12), in the context of sociopedagogical activities is a form of reflective, partnership cooperation which manifests itself in a responsible, constant and spontaneous willingness to co-operate towards common goals, which is, on the one hand, associated with the risks, but which in the end, in terms of mutual respect for others, can contribute to a constructive and efficient work.
