Summary/Abstract: The article presents the problem of culturological interpretation of Ancient history specifics that found place in the new Bulgarian 5th grade textbooks. It makes thematic semantic analysis of selected educational narrative highlights. Around those accents are situated syncretic interactions in the Ancient world - migration, cities, religion, empire, art and science. We emphasize some didactic elements of the textbooks. They require the use of innovative approaches in the development of the historic matter and allow the activation of the students’ cognitive abilities.
