Summary/Abstract: The paper presents the main theoretical characteristics of citizens’ participation in public policy and how they are implemented in Bulgarian practice by any of the participation forms. Seven different activities are provided by the legislature and we introduce comparative analysis who has the initiative, what is the required time, what resources should be used, which citizens’ rights are protected and what goals should be accomplished by the different forms of citizens’ participation.
