Summary/Abstract: Within the storing rooms of “Teodor Cincu” History Museum of Tecuci, we identified three pots which, through their shape and material, couldn’t be included to any of the typological groups of discoveries of this institution. In a photo published by a magazine from 1934 (“Ilustrațiunea Română”), we can notice, along with other fragments of pottery, whorles, the three objects belonging to the Coconi type. The place of their discovery remains unknown; nevertheless, we have the information that they belonged to the old collection of M. Dimitriu. The pots under discussion instantiate a particular type, derived from the amphoras and having a capacity and size superior to those of the pots. They are big vases, made of good reddish clay. Their shape is ovoid and long. The bottom is flat, the neck is long and they reach their maximal diameter in the area of the shoulders. They have big handles, oval in section and being fixed from the neck and shoulders. The ornaments are applied on the neck and on the shoulders. Scientific literature consecrated this kind of pottery as of “Coconi type”. They were dated to the second half of the XIV-th century AD.The material of these pots is of Oriental type and it was used by the population from the mouths of the Danube; this material was prepared in the centers of Crimea or in Northern Anatolia. In Moldavia, as it is revealed by the settlements from Hlincea – Iaşi, Hansca, Costeşti, this type of pottery was used, along with traditional pottery (made of reddish-gray clay) during the first half of the XIV-th century.
