Summary/Abstract: The archaeological research made in the years 2009-2010 at “Negrileşti – Schoolyard” site, in Negrileşti, Galaţi County, had a preventive nature focusing on a precise location, called the “Heating Station”. The area where the heating station will be built was researched by investigating six units of digging that covered 124 m2. Twenty archaeological structures (three dwellings, fourteen sewage pits, an oven, a hearth and an archaeological complex) were observed and dated, based on the ceramic material, to the later part of the Age of Bronze and to the third and fourth centuries after Christ. Nine pits, a dwelling and the complex, which contains pottery and animal bones, belong to the later part of the Age of Bronze (Noua Culture). Two dwellings, 5 pits, the hearth and the oven belong to a level of habitation specific to the Sântana de Mureş-Černjachov culture. The research at the „Heating Station” allowed the obtainment of a rich archaeological, ceramic and, especially, osteological material that confirms that the area situated on the river Bârlad was inhabited in the two historical periods already mentioned.
