Summary/Abstract: Our research aims at the presentation of simple toponyms with anthroponomical radicals of the Upper Valley of Suceava which are formed by means of certain suffixes. We will highlight the fact that the suffixes represent, from a semantic point of view, the existence of formed communities of groups of persons or families having the same name or being only in relations of social dependence in relation to an individual, with a certain name. The existence of these necessary conditions for the formation of certain names is often confirmed by the historical documents which indicate the owners of some villages and by the local traditions which offer information concerning the presence of certain surnames which influenced the creation of the name of the respective locality.
