Summary/Abstract: The article shows the dynamics of the population’s development of cities and urban-type settlements in the Arctic zone of the Russian Federation; it describes the condition and prospects for the development of urban-type settlements; the statistical material of the population censuses and the data of the current population accounting are given: recommendations for the infrastructure’s development of the Arctic zone of Russia are given.
