Dictionary Schools, Their Features And Cons

Summary/Abstract: This study is the Turkish transmission of Huseyin Nassar’s work called “elMu ͑cemu’l-Arabiyyu Neş’etuhu ve Tetavvuru’’ the first volume of the “Hasâisu Madrasah Halil b. Ahmed ve Uyûbuhe” between the pages of 304 and 307; the second volume of the “Hasâisu Madrasah Ibn Dureyd ve Uyûbuhe” between the pages of 375 and 378; “Hasâisu Madrasah el-Cevherî ve Uyûbuhe’’ between the pages 546 and 547; “Hasâisu Madrasah ez-Zemahşerî ve Uyûbuhe” between the pages of 596 and 597. The features of those four kind of dictionary studies which are prepared in Arabic and some deficiencies which are in these dictionaries are being generally tried to be explained. Assembling the comman point in the dictionaries such as el-Ayn, el-Bari’, et-Tehzib, el-Muhit, el-Muhkem in the study of Halil b. Ahmed al-Farahidi is their alphabetical order of letters according to their indications with this organization. While in the system that was presented by İbn Dureyd, in dictionaries such as elCemhere, el-Mucmel, Mu’cemu Makayisi’l-Luga, the first letter is taken into consideration as well as hearth system; Moreover, in the el-Cevheri school, dictionaries such as es-Sıhâh, Lisanu’l-Arab, el-Kâmûsu’l-Muhit ve Tâcu’l-Arûs are prepared according to their last letter ; in ez-Zamahşari study , there are dictionaries such as Esâsu’l-Belaga, Muhitu’l-Muhit, el-Kutrub, el-Mu’cemu’l-Kabir ve elMu’cemu’l-Vasit that are prepared according to their first letter, as well.
