Trends and Opportunities for the Development of the Banking Sector in Bulgaria

Summary/Abstract: The problems related to the development of the banking sector during the last few years in the background of the globalization of world markets and the financial crisis are analysed. The authors believe that the banking sector in Bulgaria should not be viewed as an object, but as a factor of stability. Some necessary and specific actions are considered for achieving stabilization of the Bulgarian economy.
