Summary/Abstract: The paper develops discussion on reputation as a source of family business competitive advantage. The strong need of external family reputation and moral infrastructure among others constitute the social family capital. This capital put into the business as an intangible asset determines the logics and philosophy of its behavior. The reputation is shaped by opinions of the business stakeholders. The author tries to prove the positive reputation of family businesses referring to empirical observations and research reflecting opinionsof stakeholders on them.
