Summary/Abstract: There are some words that exist in the old Turkic texts and live in Anatolian subdialects, although they are not used in the standard writing language of Turkey Turkish. One of these words is the verb “küse-”. This verb can be witnessed both in Mongolian and Turkic dialects since the ancient times and it is also remarkable in terms of its origin, its structure and its spelling. This article is based on the word “güsenç” which was found in the texts compiled from the local subdialect of Yalova. The word “güsenç” is derived from the verb “küse-” and it is not included in the standart writing language of Turkey Turkish either. In this article; the etymology, spelling and morphology of the verb “küse-” are discussed. In addition to this, the linguistic journey of this verb, its lexicological condition, and its derivatives are studied. By making comparisons between the dialects, the use of this verb is tried to be sampled and word maps are created.
