Summary/Abstract: The article describes the level of knowledge of the Polish language among people of Polish origin living in Brazil. Analysing the material gathered during her research in Brazil in the years 2013–2016, the author of the article identifies the factors that cause the disappearance of the Polish language, as well as the ones responsible for its revival.
