Summary/Abstract: In this study, a comparative analysis of conventional and participation banks which are operating in Turkey have done with the help of CAMEL rating model and t-test has applied to the gathered data to show if there is a difference between conventional and participation banks. Analysis results show that, conventional banks are better at profitability, liquidity, capital adequacy and management efficiency than participation banks, on the other hand, participation banks are much better at quality of assets. According to the t-test results; conventional banks and participation banks can be separated from each other with regards to profitability and management efficiency, whereas it has not found a statistically significant difference between conventional banks and participation banks according to capital adequacy.
