On one of the manifestations of a conflict between discourse and linguistic norm

Summary/Abstract: The processes observed in the study reveal a conflict between the normative requirements, consistent with the parameters of the media discourse, and, on the other hand, the aspiration towards the use of manipulative strategies, which allow for an impact on the addressee via substandard linguistic units and speech models characterized by vivid pragmatic features. The analysis of facts in the study aims to determine which discourse parameters are essential for the choice of linguistic devices, and, respectively, what are the grounds and reasons for the change of the communicative-pragmatic norms. The realizations of the units from the functional- semantic field of credibility are the object of study and evaluation.
