Summary/Abstract: The research objective was to study the peculiarities of learning anti-motives in children of elementary-school age. The content analysis of essays was used as a diagnostic tool. Thechoice of this method is explained by the lack of valid and reliable methods to study learning antimotivationin the Russian elementary school students. The research revealed certain peculiarities oflearning anti-motivation in elementary schoolchildren. In order to verify the conclusions, the χ2(Xsquared) criterion introduced by Pearson was used. The obtained results may be used to develop aquestionnaire for exploring learning anti-motivation in junior schoolchildren, and for optimizing theefforts of educators to build the motivation for learning in the elementary school students.
