Summary/Abstract: The proposed analysis of the equivalent and asymmetric prepositional constructions in Slovak and Bulgarian languages would help students acquire theoretical and practical knowledge related to the rationalization of the preposition as a semantic-syntactic unit in two related languages. The presentation focuses on the consistency in the utilization of genetic and typological prepositional constructions of the type Verb - Praep - Sub, Sub{ - Praep - Sub2, Praep - Sub. Such an approach would cultivate students’ appercepiant ability in overcoming interference in the field of the proposed systems of the two Slavic languages, so that the developed linguistic competence would promote the conscious choice of preposition / prepositional construction in the flow of speech in natural Bulgarian communicative environment.
