Summary/Abstract: Although infertility is not a life threatening health problem, it is a complex life crisis that has psychological, physical, economic and social effects on couples. Infertile couples are not only confronted with a medical condition, but also have some emotional experiences. The feelings, thoughts and beliefs of infertile couples are frequently changing as a result of being infertile. Accordingly, most couples may need an infertility counselor who provides the necessary support with their knowledge and experience. In this context, this review aims to define the scope of developing infertility counseling as a new field.
