Summary/Abstract: This paper deals with the concept of specific cooperation of modern and traditional, advocated by the poets of the fifties of the twentieth century. Through their creative work we will realize that certain parts of our literary history are worth accepting, remembering and revising; let us not be restricted by our link with tradition in creation of individuality. The process of delving into the national and European cultural and literary tradition is one of the key aspects of the neosymbolism poetry. Intentionally participating in the renewal of the form through its modernization they have made shifts on the development line of Serbian poetry.
