Summary/Abstract: The author of the essay comes out of the assumption, that each period speaks its own language. The language has its record in each artifact, including literary, and it stays as a constant disturbance. It appears even in the analysis of literary texts, where the main character is the patriarch of Czech Slavonic Studies Josef Dobrovský. The author of the essay follows the line of Dobrovský appearing in the prose of A. V. Šmilovský – Za ranních červánků and in the novel of P. Veverka Ani abbé, ani modrý. He also assumes that artistic literature including myths and legends contributed to a better picture of Dobrovský today in general knowledge.
