Summary/Abstract: The core of this research is the relationship between two close and connected ways of story-telling in the work of Milovan Danojlić: from lyrical experiments and discussions, which occurred in the 1960’s grew lyrical novels gathered around childhood and growing up as a key thematic core. This transition from one prose form to another was a logical development of Danojlić’s literary expression considering his resistance towards literary conventions and limitations. This was also the source of several common features: the unconventionality of experiments and discussions yielded a propensity towards an essayistic discourse, genre openness, compositional “looseness” and mosaic structure, which Danojlić embedded into his novels.
