Summary/Abstract: Anna Dostoyevskaya was a wife, an assistant, and a literary collaborator of the great writer. Charateristics and classifications of her epistolary heritage, preserved in the archives, are presented in the article. Most of her letters have neither been studied nor published until now. The genre of letter writing is characterized as a phenomenon of literature. This genre belongs to common cultural and literary spheres (for the first time - N. Tynyanov in the work “Literary fact”). A brief review of the history of study of the authors’ letter writing as a particular genre, as well as studies of the letters written by Fyodor Dostoyevsky are provided. Almost a quarter of Anna Dostoevskaya’s epistolary heritage consists of letters written to her husband. Some excerpts from her will, concerning this correspondence, are submitted. It is concluded that correspondence between spouses - is a creation of a single literary text, the study of which gives a lot for understanding the writer’s personality and his companion’s identity.
