”HOW DID THE EMPIRE OF SERBIA AND MOSCOW BECOME” BY JOKSIM NOVIĆ OTOČANIN

Summary/Abstract: In the paper we critically consider the forgotten fairytale ”How did the empire of Serbia and Moscow become” by Joksim Nović Otočanin, romance writer who was also celebrated by Njegos. After considering his life and his work, the negative critique of his poetry and his prose as well as the fairytale ”How did the empire of Serbia and Moscow become” was also taken into account. It was said in the conclusion that the fairytale, similar and close to the folk short story, is original and stylistically made mystification and evocation of an old storytelling, perception of the world, folk customs and beliefs.
