Summary/Abstract: The social nature of the Internet poses a significant challenge for creating an informed and responsible process of educating children and youngsters. The active involvement and the presence of young people in social networking environments cannot be treated as a separate part of reality. For a generation brought up in a constant relationship with the new media, there is no clear division into a social life inside the media and outside it. Both those spheres constitute a common basis for socialization. The demands for the control and selection of the content that a young person may encounter are thus unjustified, as the same, regardless of the means of prevention applied, are accessible to young people anyway. The cultural situation requires suiting educational processes to the situation where life, experienced through the media, becomes one with the commonplace reality as a common ground of dailiness.
