Summary/Abstract: Although the idea to prepare the constitution originated already during the First Serbian Uprising, the administration and court procedures during the Uprising primarily depended on the will and mercy of Karađorđe and other regional leaders. In addition to the documentary sources, more detailed testimonies about these issues can be found in the richer and thematically-motivationally more diverse oral narrative material, preserved in the written form. Along with some samples which underline exemplary court and administrative procedures, there are more numerous anecdotes which describe cruel, willful and offensive behaviour of the leaders of the Uprising. However, it is interesting that the ”pan” of the folk history scales gave prevalence to their dedication and effort in the general state-forming plane. Therefore, on the basis of the enclosed narrative material, it is very stimulating to study the forms and relations in which mythical and anecdote, legendary and historical layers appear and merge.
