Summary/Abstract: Textbooks regarding the history of the Ottoman Empire were a part from the body of textbooks devoted to the world history. This narrative presents exactly these textbooks. Analysis is concentrated on the textbooks by Petko R. Slaveikov and Stefan S. Bobchev. The author presents their didactical aspects, their conceptual place in the opposition “tolerance-intolerance” as well as their achievements. Regardless their late emergence, in the second half of the XIX century, these textbooks on the Ottoman history helped for the development of historical knowledge and culture.
