Psychological adaptation of couples with reproductive problems

Summary/Abstract: There is over 270 000 couples with reproductive problems in Bulgaria- a fact which should make us think about expanding the approaches for its resolving. Except for being a social problem, sterility is a big psychological problem also. In this article I have paid attention to the ” psyche-body” connection and to some of the main conceptions considering the genesis of psychosomatic problems. I have also gone through the emotional stages of sterility. I have suggested a program for “Psychological adaptation of couples with reproductive problems”, which through psychotherapeutic techniques comes into the complex approach for overcoming sterility. I have examined the group from the pilot project.
