Summary/Abstract: In the article the hypothesis of spatial effects is verified, where the explained variable is GDP per capita, while the explanatory variables are mainly variables expressing the basic factors of economic growth (gross value of fixed assets per employee, unemployment rate). The research is about subregions in Poland in 2012. Moran global statistics and spatial econometric models were used to estimate spatial dependencies, which included spatial variations of the explanatory variable and / or explanatory variables. The model with spatial effects in errors was also evaluated. In the final stage of the study, models were compared due to information criteria.
