Technological offer databases as the means of support for technology transfer in an enterprise

Summary/Abstract: One of the problems regarding the increase of innovativeness in Polish enterprises is the lack of sufficient knowledge of entrepreneurs on the available technologies. The inherent source of information in this area is databases of technology offers (DOTO). They are a helpful tool, which allow the entrepreneurs to accomplish both domestic and international transfers of innovative solutions. The paper presents a general characteristic of databases of technological offers, including their topical scope and geographical range. The purpose of this analysis is to indicate the role of databases of technology offers in the process of technology transfer. The research methodology includes a triangulation of research techniques: analysis of subject literature, an in-depth interview with the operators of databases of technology offers and empirical verification of the contents of DOTOs.
