Summary/Abstract: If the principle of international responsibility of holding power for ill-treatment of prisoners during hostilities was generally accepted, its implementation is relatively recent, occurring since the period of the Second World War. The powers their combatants in wartime also having consequences imposed by international humanitarian law to establish clear categories of persons who may legally participate in hostilities and conditions which must be met for the recognition of such status. Status of persons authorized to participate in hostilities have stated that each state is free to fall or not women in its armed forces, combatant or non-combatant status of which is determined by the same principles as for men.
