Summary/Abstract: Increasing competitive pressure is forcing local governments to look for new ways to manage and create innovative solutions that improve the efficiency and effectiveness of their activities. One of the answers to this challenge is a Living Lab concept, with its adaptation to the specificity of public administration. This method provides new ways and tools to create innovative solutions, focused on the needs of users. Living Lab is a place where the consumer becomes the source and the driving force of the innovation process, but also its recipient. As a result, thanks to the partnership of various local actors with final users (residents), innovative solutions adequate to specific conditions of development of the territory are created. The purpose of this article is to identify the benefits of implementing the concept of Living Lab in the activities of local government. The article analyzes the essence of this idea and presents Polish experience in applying Living Labs solutions in the public sector. As a research methods, a participant observation (by a member of experts team), as well as case studies, were used. The accumulated knowledge and experience became the basis for the identification of positive effects of the implementation of the Living Lab in the local government.
