Summary/Abstract: J. Skirius reviewed and evaluated the monograph by Ilona Bučinskytė “Lead by Ideals: Ateitininkai in Emigration in the 5th – 7th Decades of the 20th Century”, published in 2008. The reviewer emphasized that the published monograph is significant because of the following reasons: it provided a long-lasting and strong basis for the history of Ateitininkai in emigration and serves as a monument to the people who cherished Lithuanian identity united into “Ateitininkai Federation”; the work is also an important contribution to Lithuania’s historiography as it filled in one more lacuna in our nation’s history and raised new and relevant questions. The reviewer strongly believes that this monograph, on the one hand, will attract attention of the people who are interested in the history of Lithuanian émigrés as well as the history of catholic organizations. On the other hand, it will be of interest to wider layers of our society and our countrymen abroad.
