Summary/Abstract: Among the factors that play an important role in the formation of a work of art are multi-layered structures such as, the era in which the artist is found, characteristics of this era, the structure of the society that the artist lives in, religion, customs and traditions of the society, the artist's way of life, his/ her intellectual assets, ideology and socio-economic status, arts policy of the country and the position of the artist in this integrity, his/her sensitivity. In this context, while doing researches on historical or specific subjects, some artists preferred an understanding of representation through imitation and emulation with a desire to define the reality in these multi-layered structures based on the social structure of the period. Within the research, particularly the place and importance of representational art in the developing and changing conception of art in Turkey, and its relationship with the government and the society have been tried to be presented.
