Summary/Abstract: Jiří Kejř (1921–2015) was one of the leading Czech legal historians. An important chapter among his research interests was the history of the Hussites and the personality of Jan Hus. This was not the only topic researched by Jiří Kejř; he was also interested in the history of Czech medieval law and the history of the state, the history of canon law, the history of the Prague Law University and the history of towns and municipal law in Bohemia and Moravia, as well as codicology. His monographs dedicated to medieval lawyer Jan of Jesenice and to Jan Hus are invaluable. He used his knowledge of municipal issues to analyse the development of municipal law in Kutná Hora during the Hussite revolution. It is important to emphasize Kejř’s strict impartiality in assessing the facts and especially in drawing conclusions.
