Summary/Abstract: The article explores a series of studies concerning the role of anxiety in the origin and diagnosis of pedophilia. The first part deals with the literary review on the theoretical and empirically tested role of anxiety in the assessment of the genesis of disorders and in the diagnosis of sexual offenders. The second part describes research on men convicted for child sexual abuse and male from the general population. Data analysis form questionnaires (the STAI Questionnaire, Anxiety Scale towards Women) has not confirm hypothesis about group differences. Considerable statistic differences were found in Draw-A-Person test, in indicators concerning in literature as anxiety indicators. The results let conclude about relation between anxiety and female figure, encouraging future research with drawing methods.
