Summary/Abstract: The present text focuses on English borrowings in the Russian language that are used to coin the names of Russian watches. The problem is scrutinized in the context of the Americanization of culture in post-Soviet Russia. It has been shown that the borrowings most frequently used by the Russian watchmakers are well-established in Russian as they have been functioning in the language at least since the first half of the 20th century. The analysis of nominations employing English borrowings indicates that tendencies in the naming practices in the Russian watchmaking industry seem to be substantially conservative.
